Rainy days can be a challenge, especially for active people who like to be up and about. Even short summer showers can completely ruin your plans for that day, but those lengthy autumn rains can turn even the most patient person into Jack Nicholson from Shinning. Instead of going after your spouse with an ax, we have created a list of fun things that you can do on a rainy day with friends. Now, not all of us are the same and we appreciate different things. That is why we have tried to take into account different tastes and find activities that will satisfy most people. From fun outdoor adventures to cozy in-house entertainment, we have something for everyone.

Netflix and Chill

Let’s get the most obvious solution out of the way. Watching a movie (or movies) with a bowl of popcorns is a great way of out waiting the rain. The chill part is optional, obviously, and will depend on just how good friends you are. Of course, the main issue will be selecting the movie to watch and that usually takes longer than the movie itself. Once that is out of the way, all that is left is to find the nearest comfy chair and enjoy watching and commenting on the movie.

Play Video Games

If you have a game console, you can organize a tournament in your favorite game. There is nothing like watching your friends rage when hit with a green turtle shell just about when they were to overtake you in Mario Kart. The level of profanities may exceed the politeness threshold, so it may be wise to avoid having children and small animals around. If the console isn’t an option, you can put together an impromptu LAN party, just like in the old days.

Play Cards or Board Games

If your friends are D&D, a length adventure may be just what the doctor ordered. Get those dice and characters sheets ready and go adventuring. If you and your friends aren’t Dragons and Dungeons crowd, find some cards and have a fun game of poker.

A Walk in the Rain

For those people that just can’t stand being coupe duo inside, a nice, relaxing walk in the rain may be the perfect way to deal with a rainy afternoon. Dress warmly and waterproof yourself as much as possible and go a-splashing.

Go Bowling

Bowling alleys are usually empty during the day, so you as well take advantage of that. Instead of sitting in the house and thinking about your ruined plans, go knock some pins over. It is fun and also therapeutic.

Visit a local bar

In the end, we have everyone’s favorite proposition. Visit a local brewery or a distillery and go nuts with free samples. By the time rain is over, you will have a nice buzz going and you will be ready to get into a taxi and continue with your evening in some club or a bar.
